Cosmetic Dentistry FAQs
Frequently Asked Cosmetic Dentistry Questions in Burke, VA
Our number one goal, as experts in sedation dentistry, is making dental care comfortable for our patients with disabilities and special needs, dental anxiety/phobia, and special needs. We know that even the simplest treatment, like a routine dental exam, can be difficult for these patients, and we have gone the extra mile to provide a facility and procedure protocols that accommodate those who have trouble receiving dental care. And when it comes to cosmetic dentistry, we offer warm and welcoming care, ensuring your loved ones have access to a practice and procedures that provide for their needs.
What is cosmetic dentistry?
Dental treatments generally cover both the aesthetic and functional aspects of dentistry, and although, cosmetic dentistry focuses primarily on the health and beauty of your smile, our quality care takes both into consideration when serving you. We want you to look great, confident, and enjoy optimal results.
What cosmetic procedures do you offer?
We offer the full spectrum of cosmetic dental services, from porcelain veneers, dental bonding, and Invisalign to teeth whitening, full mouth reconstruction, and inlays/onlays.
I would like my smile improved, but I am simply fearful of going to the dentist. Can you do anything to make me feel better?
Not only does our office employ the most effective types of anesthetics to numb your teeth, but we also provide amenities that are designed to distract you while we perform dental procedures. We are the premier providers of sedation and special needs dentistry in our area, and we make every effort to eliminate any psychological discomfort you may associate with a dental visit. We offer nitrous oxide, movies, music, medications as well as oral sedation, IV sedation, and General Anesthesia to ensure you’re relaxed and at ease while in our care.
May I choose to be sedated?
You most definitely can. Most people do not require a high level of anesthesia during cosmetic dentistry, but we understand the anxiety that some patients experience when it comes to any dental care, and we will do everything we can to make you comfortable. When choosing sedation methods, we consider your health and medical history and the procedures you’d like done. If you opt to be sedated for any procedure you will have a sedation consultation with our in-house dentist anesthesiologist so the right sedation option can be determined and any questions can be answered.
Are there any special considerations for dental veneers?
When helping you decide if veneers would a good fit for you, we examine your oral goals, the color of your teeth, and your lifestyle and oral habits. We may recommend teeth whitening beforehand since veneers are ultra-thin and can be translucent. If you grind your teeth, we may work with you to minimize this since it can cause chips, cracks, and breaking veneers.
Are veneers my only option for a smile makeover?
No. When you come in and meet with us, we’ll help determine what procedures would be the best for you. We take into consideration your desires and the condition of your teeth. Your smile makeover could include teeth whitening, crowns, bonding, clear braces, a full-mouth restoration, or a combination of these procedures.
Are there cosmetic dentistry procedures that can be performed on patients with special needs?
Absolutely. Patients of all ages, needs, and disabilities who are concerned about their appearance and smile. Schedule an appointment with us, so we can get to know you and suggest the most appropriate course of action based on your needs, oral condition, and desires.
What is full-mouth reconstruction?
When it comes to the point when all the teeth in your upper and lower jaws need attention, a full mouth reconstruction, also known as a smile makeover, maybe an excellent solution. We take meticulous care to rebuild what has been lost due to decay, wear, tooth loss, or bone loss, and restore your smile so that it will last a lifetime.
How long do cosmetic dental procedures take?
It depends on the procedure. Since cosmetic needs are unique, timeframes differ from patient to patient. When you come in for a consultation, we’ll design a customized treatment plan and give you a more detailed schedule of visits based on your cosmetic dental needs.
Will my dental insurance cover cosmetic dental treatment?
The amount of coverage provided by your insurance company depends on your plan and the procedures you’ve chosen. If you’re having broken or decayed teeth repaired or replaced, you’ve got a better chance of qualifying for insurance reimbursement. When you come in for a consultation, we’ll help you navigate your benefits and do all we can to make sure you get the dental care you deserve.
