Comprehensive Dental Treatment for Adult and Children who have Special Needs

At NOVA Dental Anesthesia, our dentists serve the Adult and Children’s Special Needs community. These patients are widely underserved and often neglected due to a lack of patient cooperation. They are usually referred from dentist to dentist, often with no resolution. The younger special needs population can sometimes be treated by a children’s dentist who offers sedation options. Still, that level of sedation does not suffice most of the time. And as the patients grow up, children’s dentists cannot perform procedures on adult patients.

Parents and caretakers are often at a loss regarding dental treatment for their special needs loved ones. Some dentists may be able to perform a “cleaning” on these adult patients, but this cleaning is often well below the standard of care and addresses the least of the patient’s dental needs. More comprehensive treatment that includes root canals, extractions, deep cleanings, infection treatment, and much more is generally neglected.
