Dr. Wissam Ali is a certified Dentist Anesthesiologist in Northern VA that is dedicated to providing quality dental care to patients that are anxious, phobic, or have special needs. With over 15 years of experience in combining sedation dentistry and cutting-edge technology, Dr. Ali assures comfort during your entire dental treatment while keeping your safety as his top priority.

In 2001, Dr. Ali received his DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He provided dental care in the Northern VA area for almost 20 years while taking continuing education courses in oral sedation, IV sedation, dental implants, sinus lifts, bone grafting, impacted wisdom teeth extractions, and much more. After realizing the need for anesthesia in dentistry today, Dr. Ali furthered his education by completing a Hospital-Based Anesthesia Residency program at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. Lutheran Medical Center (now NYU Lutheran) is a Level 1 Trauma center that provided Dr. Ali with very valuable operating room experiences.

During his residency, Dr. Ali provided IV Sedation and General Anesthesia to children and adults undergoing medical and dental procedures. In Tucson, Arizona, Dr. Ali received postgraduate training in Ambulatory Pediatric Anesthesia in outpatient facilities. He also received specialized training in providing general anesthesia to patients with special needs at Helen Hayes Hospital in West Haverstraw, NY, where approximately 4,000 patients are treated each year.

After completion of his residency, Dr. Ali provided ambulatory anesthesia services to over 50 dental offices in the Northern VA and Richmond areas. He has provided his anesthesia services to all disciplines in dentistry including general dentistry, pediatrics, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery. With his wide exposure to hospital and dental-based anesthesia, Dr. Ali is committed to providing quality dental care in a relaxed and comfortable environment at his state-of-the-art anesthesia center in Burke, VA.

During his free time, Dr. Ali enjoys participating in multiple community activities in the area including the Special Olympics, KEEN (Kids Enjoy Exercise Now), E.I.D. (Exceptional Individuals with Dreams) and DSANV (The Down Syndrome Association of Northern Virginia) special needs organizations. Of his many hobbies and interests, camping and hiking top the list. Dr. Ali is also an avid skier, whenever the time and weather permits. From his list of comforting activities, spending time with his family proves to be the most valuable to him. Dr. Ali is married and has two beautiful children, Adam and Tara.
